Tour de Georgia - Circuit Race in downtown


We watched the last stage of the Tour de Georgia from Moe's on 5th street next to the 5th Street Bridge. Couldn't stay for the final lap, but it was great getting close to the riders. In this short clip, you can get a feel for how close they get (especially at the end). The pack is making the turn from West Peachtree onto 5th at this spot.

Cycling wasn't on my radar until 2 years ago. I have never seen a bike race, of any kind, until the U.S. Open Cycling Championships was are on NBC (I think) a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty neat to watch. How cool to see it in person! Come to think of it, I have rarely seen anyone even riding a road bike where I live. It's a 4-wheel state of mind here, not 2 (yet!)
