Fireplace Time of Year

Usually when I smell my neighbors burning wood in their fireplaces, it's in the evening. It was a treat to smell the wood smoke this morning. I was imagining a pot of grits hanging over a fire somewhere along with bacon, eggs, and toast.

Although the sunbeams from the wood smoke don't show up in this picture very well, I do like the bright spot on the ground right in front of the bike. It's easy to imagine someone got off their bike and rose upward on the sunbeam. (I should have made footprints in the dew!).
