Get MARTA Breeze card before July 1

After July 1, the best option for riding Atlanta's public transit is to use the Breeze Card. These cards are good for 4 years and will cost $5 after July 1, 2007. You can apply for your card online to get it for free through June 30.

Great idea. We are sooo behind in public transportation here in Alaska. Anchorage does a pretty good job, actually, but where I live it's almost non-existant. I wonder WHEN the powers that be will realize Alaska will soon be polluted like other places in the world. I like the idea of prevention rather than fixing an existing problem. I used only public trans when I was in San Francisco, it was great, if confusing at time - buses with the same number going to different places - huh???

It takes numbers of riders to make it work no matter where you live. Although Atlanta has public transit, it remains under-utilized. Atlanta is built for the automobile unfortunately. I'm glad I live in the older part of town that is more human-scaled and pedestrian.

What if WE were the powers that be? Maybe we are. If enough of us get out of our cars, there won't be as much demand for car-oriented facilities.
