Adjusting for the heat?

I snapped this photo shortly before going out on a ride with the Thursday night CVS group. If the frog painted on the thermometer were real, he probably wouldn't be smiling.

We like the CVS route (more shady than most) and their pace isn't quite as hectic as the Wednesday night ride. Usually.

Since the thermometer was pushing 105F in the shade (just 101F officially), I thought the group might try an easier pace. No. I ended up with an 18.4 MPH average speed over the 18.9 miles. At least the air was dry. Full of ozone, but dry.

Hi! I go on the Decatur/CVS ride too. I didn't go this evening (have a Century this weekend and am afraid of overtraining
in the heat).

Hey Larry,

The heat wasn't too bad as long as we were moving. It was the ozone in the air that was rough. I was rinsing my mouth and throat every few minutes.

I'll need to look for you when I ride with this group. I didn't start riding with this group until a couple of months ago. I usually ride on Sunday's at 8AM leaving from Aurora Coffee in Virginia-Highland.

You've got a lot of routes on bikely.com. Thanks for entering them.
