Emperor's New New Clothes

21st Century emperors have traded in their clothes for cars. Instead of vanity apparel, they have vanity transportation. "Clothes make the man" should now read "You are what you drive".

Like the emperor, are you afraid to be considered unfit for your position in life ? You risk being vulnerable to the car commercials.

Sure, the entire automobile-based economy might suffer if we ceased believing in this fairy-tale, but consider what we would gain: healthier lives, greatly reduced consumption of non-renewable resources, better air, and pedestrian-friendly streets. Do we really need to bring 4000 pounds of glass, rubber and steel everywhere we go?
